I have seen so many bloggers posting about one word they are claiming for the year. Honestly, I have been racking my brain to try and think of one that would accurately describe what I want this year to bring.
Last year brought some changes for our family, as my husband took a new job. This year will be my year to step out in faith. I have eliminated some of the distractions and will be focusing more on my blog and starting a new adventure with a friend. I have prayed for clarity and although I feel like I’m headed down the right path, there is always uncertainty.
I read this passage a few days ago:
“Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.” Romans 12:1a (The Message)
It’s a reminder that no matter what we are doing , as insignificant as we may think it is , as long as we are trusting God with the details it will work together for our good. I want to leave all the details to him and live out my Jeremiah 29:11 calling!
“”For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
My word for 2014 is SURRENDER. I need to stop thinking so much and trust that HE has it all figured out for me. It’s not easy letting go of control…I’m a worrier!
I pray that 2014 is a great and blessed year for all of us!!
