For the next few months I am going to be featuring a group of wonderful bloggers every Friday. (You probably have already noticed the last few weeks!) I have really enjoyed meeting all these talented woman and thought it would be great to share them with you.
Today I’d like you to meet Barb from The Everyday Home!! I hope you will all stop over and say “hi!”

Hello Everyone! Thanks to Angela for allowing me to guest post today, I am excited to make new friends. My name is Barb, and I am the host and under-paid full-time Blogger/Writer at The Everyday Home. I love all things home related – be it Cooking, Crafting or being involved in anything Creatively DIY and Design. I hope you enjoy this easy project I recently completed for my Laundry Room/Pantry Renovation.
As a military wife, I decided to face the daunting task of organizing my home like – well, a Marine.
Right after the first of the year, I sat down and created an “EPA.”
Evasion Plan of Action.
The Hubbs said I needed something more along the lines of a CAP.
Crisis Action Plan. Â 🙂
We just completed our Laundry Room and Pantry demo. Â Can I just say LOVE!
Here is a quick peak at what this looked like before…
I tackled the pantry area through the eyes of someone who loves to cook. Â It may not work for everyone, but my system – thus far – has been a tremendous blessing in helping me menu plan and grocery shop. Â Like I said… LOVE!
My POS {Pantry Organization System} - Not a real military term I don’t think –  was  categorized by cuisine.
Instead of adding the canned tomatoes to the veggie stack, it was placed in the {Italian} Basket.
I also have an {Asian} and {Mexi} basket. Â Any food item which falls into this category was placed in these baskets. Â So far, so good.
I used chalkboard labels from Leen the Graphics Queen on some of the baskets, but on others – I wanted to make my own chalkboard tags.
So, I recruited my favorite DIY Helper…and he cut out some wood plaques from luan paneling.
– and I drilled holes in each corner while he cut.Â
A few coats with this chalkboard spray paint…
… and some simple jute twine hangers later, I had these…
These cute little chalkboard tags make everything easy to recognize and find. Â Best part, if I find a particular categorized basket isn’t working out, I can simply erase the little chalkboard tag and write whatever I decide to refill the basket with.
Such as…
– snacks I crave at 1am.
– sooooo not diet foods.
– Wine!
– Foods I am Hiding from the Boys! Â
– More Wine! Â 🙂
So, that’s it. Â Organized Pantry. Â Check.
Oh, and as for that Army of Dust Bunnies that are trying to take over The Everyday Home…
I spotted their elusive leader. Â I think “Lt. Lily” was in full military planning mode to stage her coup.
Good thing I “disguised” the kitty treats in a safe place. Â 😀
Thanks again, Angela, for letting me share this Chalkboard Tag project with your Readers. I hope everyone enjoyed seeing it.
All My Best, Barb xxoo

Wonderful for any kind of organizing and can make them yourself. That’s the kind of project I love. Can buy a piece of thin wood at craft store to cut into small pieces for the tags, love, love it.
Wish I had a pantry like Barb’s to keep tidy. Our pantry is our cupboards. We have a mfg. home so guess there wasn’t room for one when it was being built. I had a pantry in our house in KY and boy was it handy. Altho I’m ashamed to admit more than just food got stuck in the “pantry” sometimes, things like pots and pans, dishes. Sure glad you shared this project. We can all use great ideas to organize anything/anywhere. Happy Weekend
