Today I’m excited to feature another fabulous blogger! Please welcome, Heather from Setting for Four!
Hello Angela and Unexpected Elegance readers! I am so excited to be a guesting here today and to share a bit about myself, my blog and my home with you!
My name is Heather and I blog at Setting for Four:
Â
I’m an interior decor student and Military wife with a passion for family friendly design that won’t break the bank or sacrifice style! I am a mom of two teenagers and married to my best friend, an Infantryman, whom I am sooooo proud of! I love to create things by hand, cook healthy meals and most of all create a comfy and cozy space for our family of four.
At Setting for Four I blog about home decor, DIY’s, crafts and recipes along with the busyness of a military lifestlye and life with two teen boys!
So you might be wondering what’s behind the name of my blog, Setting for Four! Grab a cup of coffee and read this post “In the Bloglight” which explains it all! You’ll learn the real nitty gritty of how and why I started blogging…Wow! What a journey it’s been!
As an interior decor student I’m having so much fun learning all about residential interior decorating! It’s been my passion for a very long time and I’ve finally taken the steps to learn more about the field of decor and design! I’m sharing all that I learn on my blog too!
I love to blog about decor, design and creating Design Boards…I just recently curated a bedroom decor collection for Crane & Canopy mixing pops of blue and green with neutral colors of taupe and grey.
I also love to decorate my home and share decorating tips like these:
I also love to interview designers and decorators and learn their design tips and tricks…check out my interview with Emily Clark from the Emily A. Clark blog Part One and Part Two.
I also love to DIY and craft too!!
One of my most favorite projects to date has been my Turn Kids Art Into Tea Towels made with a Sharpie and a Flour Sack towel:
This was made from my youngest son’s drawing of our family…isn’t he an amazing artist?
…and my DIY Beaded Sunburst Mirror! (can you believe I made this using Scrapbook Paper, Beads and a Ceiling Medallion?)
I also cohost a weekly linky party Project Inspire{d} every Monday night at 8 pm EST where each link is shared on 5 blogs for 5 times the fun and exposure! I’d love to see your creativity, so please join in and share you latest diy, craft, recipe or makeover sometime!
If you’d like, check out my DIY Project Gallery, my
Recipes Page and my Home Tour as well, to see what else I’ve been up to!
I’d love it if you popped by Setting for Four and said hello! If you’d like to follow along with more of my decor and DIY posts, you can follow along with me here:

I’m so excited to learn about your blog, Heather! As an interior decor student, I’m always looking for inspiration and new ideas. I’ve been struggling to keep up with my coursework, especially with my own DIY projects, but I’ve found some great resources like YouTube tutorials. Speaking of which, I recently discovered the channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpeitwCptmxiTnMf31b5KGg which has been super helpful in understanding how you can get help with your college projects. I’d love to hear more about your favorite design tips and tricks.
