Today officially kicks off the fall season, so I thought we could celebrate with something warm to drink…even if your weather might not call for it now. I am not a huge coffee person, so my go-to cold weather beverage is always hot cocoa! My all time favorite is Starbucks salted caramel hot chocolate, but this recipe might change that. It’s definitely decedent…so we will pretend that it’s calorie free. 😉
Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups milk
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ cup cream
- 1 oz. Milk chocolate
- 1 oz. Dark chocolate
- Pinch of table salt
- ⅛ cup caramel sauce
- Whip cream to taste
Directions:
- In a small saucepan mix milk and cream and heat until slightly boiling.
- Add sugar and chocolate and stir until the chocolate is completely melted.
- Add a pinch of salt.
- Whisk in the caramel sauce until texture becomes fluffy.
- Serve in desired glass and add whip cream and caramel sauce to garnish.
- Enjoy.
Tip: Add some clove, cinnamon and nutmeg to spice it up
