Last week I had an opportunity to take a paint class at a local shop outside Indy. This wasn’t just any paint…it is AMAZING!! I know almost all of you have heard about Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (TM) decorative paint, but I really didn’t believe just how awesome it was until I tried it.
The shop is called ReStyled and the owners, Sasha and Connie are so nice and down to earth. {They love junking and bringing things back to life just as much as I do! 😉 }
The class was so informative and I was completely blown away by what this paint can do! First of all, you just have to clean the piece and then start painting…NO sanding!
The class was hands on and we got to experiment with all the different techniques. You can really transform just about anything to look like it’s an old French antique (if that’s your goal). My first big project is going to be tackling a buffet I got from Walmart a few years ago and I’m excited to see the result.
If you paint a lot of furniture, this paint will rock your world!
I got another little treat out of the class. Check out our class photo, do you recognize anyone? Sarah, a.k.a Thrifty Decor Chick, was also at the class. I knew she lived close (about a mile away!) and I have actually seen her around, but I had never met her. She’s a rock star in the blogging world, and I was a little nervous to meet her. She was very sweet, btw!
If you live in the area and would like to find out more about Chalk Paint (TM) or just visit a really cool local merchant, here is all the info.
