I have had so much going on lately, that the thought of taking the time to sit down and type was just too exhausting. I would finish working on something or do something fun and think, I need to write a post about this….AND then I didn’t. So, I’m so far behind on all that has been going on that I’m not sure where to begin. For convenience sake I will make a list (I love me some lists! Doesn’t everyone…rhetorical right!?)
1. I’ve been working on some projects for other people!!! I have a little bit of problem saying NO. But when it’s something FUN, how can you say no!??!  My current project is a nursery and in my “free time” I have been working on the furniture for the room and planning. This week we have a painter there and the chair rail is going up. It’s actually starting to feel like we are making some progress.
We are going for a softer more sophisticated color scheme. Something similar to this:
This is the before shot.
I was also was contacted by a friend of a friend, to help with her dining room and family room. She wants to expand her table and make it more of a farm table. So, the other day I was driving on a back road and low and behold….I came across an old farm being torn down!!!  I asked for permission to take some wood but the workers weren’t the friendliest. They said I could take some but the piles of wood and nails were MASSIVE and I had my girls with me. Long story short, a friend and I went back that night at 11pm. I was so afraid the cops would show up and think we were stealing.  IT WAS almost midnight and dark, so I think they would have been justified in their assumption!! But I got a few pieces for the table! So far, I’ve only cut them down. There are some pretty pesky nails that will need some attention in the near future.
See, why I don’t say NO. It would be my dream to be able to work on other peoples spaces full time…we’ll, see where these projects lead.
2. I had my first home show. It was pretty small and low key. It was nice to have a quick set-up and tear down. (Yeah, no pictures. I’m SO bad about that after I set-up.)
3. I’ve started a part-time job. It’s not anything that I’m going to make a ton of $$ at, but it will be a little extra spending money and the hours are completely flexible and on my schedule.
4. I am planning/hosting a shower for a friend. The theme is Vintage Nursery Rhymes. I am hoping there are enough hours in the day to execute all the plans in my head.
Here’s some Pinterest inspiration. I’m obsessed just like the rest of you and somehow find time to browse. The app make it so darn easy!!
5. Holidays are upon us! We will be traveling next week and having lots of fun things at the kid’s schools. I love this time of year but it seems to be so busy. I am really looking forward to the week after Thanksgiving, when I will HOPEFULLY have time to start decorating for Christmas. (This year, my Fall decor was pretty weak!)
Let’s just pretend my house looks like this again this year. 😉
Just an overview of some of the things happening in my life. Anyone else feeling that “life” is happening WAY too fast!?!

With 3 kids turning 21 this year, one turning 20 and two in high school, yes life is flying by. However, I just try to take a few moments each day and relax and journal about my family’s life so they will eventually know I really was thinking of them all the time, even when they are away. Only two live at home now. I have more time for my arts and crafts, more time to read and take naps, more time to take little fun field trips with my girlfriends. However, I’d trade it all to have my kids little again and with me all day. Have a nice week. I have enjoyed looking over your blog today. I discovered it through your wax paper tutorial being pinned at pinterest. Yes, I’m addicted too.
