I did this project back in January, but I thought you might all enjoy a tutorial on it! I decided to START redoing my oldest daughters room. My plan is to eventually have both girls in one room and free up a room as my office/craft room…we will see!
So when I was thinking about this room I decided to decorate it as if both girls were sharing now. I monogram A LOT and love personalization, so I wanted the girls to have a piece of each of them in “their” room.
I came up with a fun way to use an old technique. I decided to make silhouettes of each girl over the beds using colorful scrapbook paper. I LOVE scrapbook paper!!
I found two large pictures on clearance for $10 a piece.
Then I took some profile pics of each of the girls and printed them out on my computer.
I offset the silhouette on the background. For the other picture, I put the silhouette at the top and had it facing in the opposite direction.
Finally I taped the backing. This looks pretty sloppy, but you don’t see it when it is up on the wall.
Here’s the final picture. I really like how all the paper coordinates!
Now both girls know exactly which bed to sleep in! 😉
I also used scrapbook paper for other artwork in this room…but that is for another day, the kiddos are calling!

I have seen these lots of places, but never using scrapbook paper. What a very clever twist! Thanks so much for linking to Transform Tuesday. I can’t wait to see what you do next.
