This week we are officially kicking off our video series with: How to Mix Chalk Paint for the Perfect Color. This is one of several weeks where we will be talking about chalk paint. I know some of you feel a little intimidated by it, so I hope these videos will help give you the confidence to try it.
Next week we will be sharing tips for prepping and applying chalk paint. So be sure to check back in.
We also are looking for some suggestions for upcoming videos. If you have a project you want us to tackle, please leave us a comment letting us know. 🙂

Ginny, chalk paint should adhere to the glaze fine. 🙂

I once read a piece to stain a coffee table top. It was done in black and they sanded it between staining to make it shiny. I’m preparing to paint my coffee and end tables in this fashion but I’ve lost the board. Could you help?
Angela says
Anne, I’m sorry I’m a little confused. Are you staining the table or painting it with chalk paint? If you plan to distress the chalk paint, I would suggested staining the wood underneath first. To make the chalk paint have a more uniform finish and a little shinier, you want to lightly sand it using a very fine grit sandpaper in between coats. If your question was something else entirely feel free to leave me another comment! 🙂
