Scott and I were very lucky when it came to planning out our family. We made the decision and within a few months we were on our way to expanding our family. Well, it wasn’t quite that simple. We were living in Pennsylvania back then and I was finishing up my post-grad work to be a teacher. (My original degree was in History…more on that in a few weeks!) When we got married we had agreed that we would wait 5 years to even start trying to have a baby. Scott on the other hand couldn’t wait that long…yes HE couldn’t wait. So after only 3 years of being married we started “trying.”
I remember taking the first pregnancy test like it was yesterday! After I had p…(well, you probably know the jest of taking that kind of test so I won’t elaborate), I remember feeling shocked and a little numb. I really thought it would take a long time and I was OK with that. When Scott saw my face he was a little worried and asked what was wrong. When I told him the test was positive his face lit up and (I believe he shouted the next words out in pure excitement) “YOU KNOW WE WERE TRYING, RIGHT!?!”
The next 9 months weren’t a walk in the park for me. Unlike some of my friends who have the amazing pregnancy glow about them, I was pale with a slight tint of green. FOR. 9. MONTHS. I thought “morning sickness” was supposed to happen in the morning and be done by about lunch. Who made up that ridiculous name for it? It should be called “all-day, every day, never stops nausea.” The plus side to feeling so crummy was that apparently it was a good sign that the baby was healthy.
And once the pregnancy was over, I sort-of (just slightly) forgot all about the horrible feeling I had for 9 months and pain of the delivery.
It must not have been too bad because a year and a half later we decided it was time to have another little “rug rat.” I mean that in the most endearing way possible. 🙂
Baby number two came along and just as I suspected, the same “all day, every day, never stops nausea.” It was even a little worse (or it might have been the fact that I had a toddler to keep up with this time around?). Either way, I made it through those 9 months yet again and now have two beautiful girls to show for it.
It’s amazing how much a baby changes your life and the lives of the people around you. How can one tiny little human being instantly change your outlook on life.
I thought I knew how I would feel once I was holding my baby, but in all reality I had NO.IDEA! Sure life was simpler when there was just Scott and I but the never ending joy that I receive watching my kids grow up (way too fast, I might add) far exceeds anything else.
{LOOK at those cheeks!! She’s completely lost those baby cheeks. 🙁 }
I know everyone’s experience is unique and looking back I’m so grateful for everything…even the horrible “not just morning” sickness!
I think we’ve decided (barring any change in our plans from God) that we aren’t having anymore kids. Right now we are trying to figure out just how we are going to afford the two we’ve got! 😉 I think Scott has a little panic attack every time we talk about saving for college…and two weddings. How do people do it with more than 2?
Talking about how much kiddos cost…what if there was a way to soften the blow!? I’ve teamed up with BMO Harris to share with you their BMO Harris Bank Scavenger Hunt Sweepstakes! It super simple to enter. Just like them on Facebook and play through their scavenger hunt.

As a former student i know a lot about pregnancy and how to care about pregnant women, as i wrote many essays about this. There were so many of them, that i even used some help writing papers from writers, but i’ve always read what they wrote and i quite frankly really glad with the result. So, Nurses play a critical role in caring for pregnant women throughout their pregnancy journey. They are responsible for providing support, education, and monitoring to ensure the health and well-being of both the mother and the unborn child. This is what i can remember

Every nursing student at least once in his or her life has a need to use a research paper writing service. Someone does not have time to complete the task in time, because he is forced to combine work and study, and someone just can not cope with a heavy course load during the session. https://nursingessaywriting.com
