I was asked by a friend, Jen (Girl in the Garage) to participate in a fun tour to “get to know me.” I thought it would be a great way to learn a little more about me and meet some new bloggers.
I met Jen two years ago at the Haven conference and this year we were roommates. To find out more about her, check our post HERE.
Jen has a great mix of DIY projects from furniture makeovers…
to accessories!!
You can find great inspiration from her Facebook page: HERE!

So here’s the 4 questions she asked me:
1. What are you working on?
Honestly, I have been a bit of a slacker over the summer in the DIY/Home Improvement department. I recently finished my master bedroom and just last week FINALLY got my tutorial up on Tips for Hanging Crown Molding. My main focus lately has been the start up of my second blog (Sports Mom Survival Guide) with my friend Heather (Mortiz Fine Design). It’s a completely different type of blog from this one. We are hitting our grove and we’re feeling some progress. I’d love for you to check it out! If you’re a parent it’s a great place to find encouragement, knowledge and ways to make your life a little easier. (After all, raising kids is the hardest, most rewarding job!! )

2. How does your work differ from others of its genre?
HAHA!!! Sorry I just had to laugh at myself for a moment! 😉 I feel like I’m all over the place, MOST of the time! Up until February of this year, I had a shop location and did shows so I was constantly creating things for other people. Now that I’m not doing it for others it’s very freeing but it feels a little boring at times. Sometimes it feels like everything has BEEN DONE, do you know what I mean? I feel it’s harder and harder to be “original”. My hope is that through just showing you what I’m doing day-to-day that it will inspire you to take chances with your style and be fearless in creating. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes! (I make mistakes ALL the TIME and learn how to do things better…)
3. Why do you write/create what you do?
It’s what I love to do! I am extremely blessed to be able to pursue my passion. Believe me, I don’t take it for granted! My hope is to one day make this blog a full time gig, but until then I will keep doing it because it’s FUN. I will say that one of the biggest perks through this whole thing is getting to know so many of you.
4. How does your writing/creating process work?
The majority of the time I am just writing about things I’m doing around my house. I enjoy thinking up ways to rearrange furniture or add wall treatments to rooms without spending a lot of money. I LIKE change…my husband does not. So if I can do things without spending money, most of the time we are both happy. My writing process normally follows my pattern of whatever is happening at the moment. I don’t normally plan my projects to fit my blog schedule, my blog follows my home improvement schedule. I’ll be honest, I can forget I’m a blogger sometimes. Meaning, I will get to the end of a big project and realize I did not take ONE picture of the process. In instances like that I’m normally recreating the important steps so I can give a visual. (Like I said I’m all over the place! 😉 )
Well, that’s all for me. Here are some of my amazing friends:

It was great to get to know you a little better Angela! I often think I’m all over the place too. I’m trying to get my backsplash planned but my hubby and I aren’t seeing eye to eye… so I know how you feel! 😉
