Yesterday, I finally got around to decorating my front porch. It’s taken me a lot longer this year, but I haven’t had the time to really even think about my house until now Things have slowed down SOME, but next week I’m hosting a party for some friends who just started their own business. It will be in our backyard, but I figured everyone will pass by the front door so I had better get that checked off the list.
It’s nothing extremely elaborate this year. I used the rope garland I had made a few years ago around the door and added a few branches with leaves to change it up a bit.
I had order the monogram weeks ago and it arrived just in time. I hung it with twine over the wreath I already had on the door for an quick and easy change. {A green wreath on a green door is not the best choice, I know. That’s why there’s plans to paint the door in the near future…it would probably be easier to find another wreath but that’s not really how I roll. That and I’m ready for a new door color!}
This bench was in my entry, but I decided a few months ago to move it outside. It just happened to fit perfectly between the window and door! I got this piece from an auction years ago and I think it came out of an old carriage?
I LOVE Fall, but putting a lot of orange in my house always kind-of stumped me. I don’t have anything against orange, it’s just not my color. This year the September cover of Better Homes and Gardens had a tablescape with leaves and a velvet jade ribbon. I love this color and actually already had quite a bit of the exact ribbon. So, the color combo became my inspiration for this year’s decorating. {Note, the ribbon around the owl. 😉 }
I also got a few bluish colored pumpkin. The color of these mixed with white pumpkins and changing leaves makes for a beautiful color combination.
Here’s the vignette with the candles on (they’re battery powered) after the sun went down.
Have a great Fall weekend!
