Chances are you’ll be hosting a number of dinners throughout the fall season. If you want to make your dining room look gorgeous, you don’t have to get fancy or spend a lot of money. There are simple tricks you can use to make your dining room look seasonal. Whether you use metallics or repurpose fall garland, there are inexpensive ways to decorate your dining room for fall.
5 Inexpensive Ways to Decorate Your Fall Dining Room
Embrace Metallics
Metallics add such beautiful color to your dining room. Best of all, colors like oil-rubbed bronze and copper can be very elegant.
Try adding metallic chargers to your dining room table and metallic accessories around the room. If you don’t have any metallic accessories, find pieces you like the shape of and then paint with spray paint…you know I LOVE my spray paint!
You’ll have beautiful pieces that you didn’t have to spend a fortune on. (You can get this printable place mat HERE.)
Keep Your Tableware Simple
The easiest thing you can do is to use white dinnerware for your table. Even if you have a mishmash or pieces, everything will look like it goes together.
You can find inexpensive sets of white dinnerware in almost any discount department store, including Ikea. You can also find inexpensive pieces of white bakeware.
Bring the Outdoors IN
You don’t have to literally bring the outdoors in (or you can!), but let it inspire you.
Simply placing small pumpkins and pine cones around the room can add a fall touch.
Create a Centerpiece
One of the best parts of fall is being able to bring the outdoors in. So, your centerpiece can be as simple as clipping some branches from the yard or getting an inexpensive bouquet of flowers from the grocery store.
Have fun playing with different arrangements until you find one that you love.

Add a Natural Element to Each Place Setting
Last, but not least, add a something from nature to each plate. This can be very simple, but create a big impact!
Take fall garland and cut it into small pieces to wrap around your napkins or add dried wheat to each plate. This is a simple way to decorate your dining table that is quick and easy.
You can see how I created the simple DIY plate chargers HERE.
For simple napkins rings, just tie the garland into place or use hot glue to create rings that slide onto the napkins. You can reuse these all season and save them for next year.
These tips are perfect for giving you a dining room that looks elegant, yet simple. Best of all, you don’t have to spend a lot of money!
