I’ve been thinking about happiness and contentment lately.  And I know that “happiness” is a choice, but I wanted to see what the Bible said about it.  I love Psalms & Proverbs, they’re packed with all kinds “what-to-do’s” and “don’ts”!  I found these scriptures that shed a little “light” on the subject.
Proverbs 15:13 “Â A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken”
Proverbs 12:25 Â “An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up”
Psalms 89:15,16 Â “Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, And in Your righteousness they are exalted.”
Isaiah 55:12 Â “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
What I took away from those verses are that you have to wake up everyday and make a decision on how you will attack that day. Â Your attitude will affect everyone around you, good and bad.
For the past few months, I have been listening to Christian music in the car and it’s so uplifting. Â It’s a good way for me to remember the “JOY” and goodness part of the equation. Â I hope your upcoming week will be filled with HAPPINESS!

So true Angela! I really feel like so many people are only concerned about finding “happiness” when it all has much more to do with joy. Joy is something that you can feel even when the circumstances in your life aren’t very happy and I think we can only experience that when we trust God with it all. Thanks so much for sharing from your heart today! 🙂
