Ok, so I had mentioned the other day that I was helping a friend re-work her dining room. We are going to use everything she has and just change it up. Our first project involved the lighting. She had seen a picture in a Ballard catalog of a large drum shade over a chandelier and wanted to replicate it. We searched the internet for a large shade, but a 23" shade is hard to find and very expensive! So, we decided to make one ourselves... Here is the before picture of her dining room. You ... Make it a Picture
Today I have been working on a hodge-podge of things. I am helping a friend re-work her dining room and finishing up some things for my shop. I am really excited to share what we are doing to jazz up her lighting, but that will have to wait...it's not quite finished yet. Harvest Garland For Fall
My most recent project came straight from the pages of the latest Lowe's Creative Ideas magazine. It is called harvest garland and fits in perfectly with any Fall decor. It is very simple to make, but a little time consuming.   You will need one 17 ft. piece of 3/4-inch-thick rope and 15 (2 ft) pieces. Country Living Fair 2010 Weekend
This weekend was amazing! Iwoke up before the sun and left Indy for my adventure in Columbus, OH. I guess I read the website wrong, because I thought I could buy "Early Bird" tickets at the gate...I was WRONG. So I waited in line for over an hour (that hour I could have slept, but it was part of the fun. ha)  The line of Friday was nothing compared to Saturday, but they were very efficient and it went quickly. I was so overwhelmed by the amount of things to see and experience. ... Read More about Country Living Fair 2010 Weekend
Fall Front Door
Today my girls and I decorated the front door. We went to a farm and got a bale of hay and a few pumpkins. On our way home we stopped to pick some "weeds." I just used other things from around the house and our yard. It was hard to get a good picture of the the complete doorway, because of the bushes. The wreath was just a round wire wreath backer (I reused this every year with fresh greenery.) I cut a few branches from our trees and wove the branches in and secured it ...
