I am SO thankful to be finished with this project! I had trouble with every step. One of the reasons it has taken so long to finish up the sewing part was that I have 3, T.H.R.E.E., sewing machines...and couldn't use ONE of them. I needed a zipper foot to do the piping, which was the whole problem.  Long story, but I ended up borrowing a friend's machine and can check this one off the list of to do's. The other reason is my youngest has been sick for a few days. She had pink eye, ... Read More about The Chair is FINISHED!
Upholstery Progress…YAY!
I'm on a roll (Time to go solo, Roll'in...Sorry, I couldn't help myself; guess I'm showing my age!).  So I have made some major progress on the chair today. It has not been an easy process, though. I used an automatic nail gun, that jammed every couple of minutes. FRUST-RATING!! So, all that is left is the sewing. I am hoping this will be the easy part. (I'm not holding my breath.) I am going to make piping to go around the top and the cushion. Day 2-6 of Chair Reupholstery: SIGH
If you thought I forgot about the chair, well I almost wish I had! Did I mention staples in the last post??? To say there were a lot of staples would be an understatement. I finally got tired of pulling them, so I just hammered the last of them down. (I am hoping that decision doesn't come back to bite me in the butt!) Day One of Chair Reupholstery: Put Your Back Into It!
Today I finally started a project I have wanted to do for years now. I have had this chair since our first house (it's actually a set of two, but one at a time!).   I am using it as part of my office, so I want to finally reupholster it. I didn't get very far in the process today....boy, the staples!!! It was definitely a pain in my back, literally. I took notes as I went to help me remember how I took it apart. I have never even attempted anything like this, so I am little ... Faux Roman Shades: Check
I am really sorry, I've been a blogging slacker! I have actually accomplished a lot since last week, but unfortunately I haven't taken the time for pictures or to tell you about it. (I have been blogging since July, so you would think I would have the hang of it by now!) Well, one of the projects I finished last week, was the window treatments for my office. I had a scrap of fabric that I wanted to incorporate, but it wasn't enough for curtains. I decided to make a faux Roman ...
