Does anyone else decorate their house and re-decorate their house, but never seem to get to your master bedroom? Well, my bedroom gets very neglected. I figure I’m the only one who sees it {and you now}, why bother!?
So I’m finally fed up enough to do something about it! I bought the bedding in the below picture when we moved in over three years ago on clearance at Target. There’s nothing “wrong” with it, it’s just blahh. That and I’m ready to warm up the space, blue is a cool color so I’m going with the Tan Family. 😉
{WOW! It looks even worse in pictures…check out the wrinkles!}
I bought the white duvet cover about 4 months ago and have just been holding onto it, until I found something to go with it. So when we went to Ikea a few weekends ago and I found the striped duvet I knew I could FINALLY get the ball rolling.
And you know once you get started, it’s hard not to drop everything else and start tweeking the whole room. {At least that’s the case with me…} The side tables are a whole other story, more on that later. The lamps I had in my pile for Horton’s, but now they are staying.
 The trunk was other item that I had originally bought to sell.  I brought it to my Open House a few years ago and when it didn’t sell, I found a place for it at the end of my bed.
To clean it up, I scrubbed it with soap and the water hose. Then I put a few coats of spray sealer. I love the top…it’s really hard to replicate something that has taken years to get beat up!!! 🙂 These euro shams, came with the contrasting fabric…ingenious.
And one big splash of color…that can be changed on a whim.
Here’s where I got everything:
white duvet- Target
striped duvet & euro pillows- Ikea
bird pillow-World Market
headboard (years ago)-Potterybarn
side tables and accessories-flea markets and auctions

Yes! Our room is small, and there is not a lot of option when it comes to putting the bed someplace, so we made our window wall (one window, old house) the “accent” wall and it is painted SW’s Revel Blue. B was giving me grief for painting the whole house gray, so I gave into blue. We bought this http://www.westelm.com/products/sketch-duvet-cover-shams-b689/ duvet from West Elm, but they never show how to accent with it. I have a weird bench/stool/storage thingy at the end of our bed that is a yellow and white pattern, so I’m afraid of too much pattern. Not to mention our “moving box covered with aggie blanket” nightstand for B and my “old entry table” nightstand for me. It is a mess.
